Shuffle
3D arrows in After EffectsWith the success of Apples iPod commercials, everyone wants to duplicate the look and feel of the piece. The latest includes arrows that bend and cross to form the iPod Shuffle logo. In this exercise Ill show you how to do it quickly and easily.
Step 1: Launch After Effects and create a New Composition (Command+N on the Mac, Control+N on the PC).

Step 2: Create a Solid (Command+Y on the Mac, Control+Y on the PC). Make it the same size as the Comp and select a Green color for the layer.

Step 3: Create another Solid. This will be one of our arrow layers, so make it 2000 pixels wide by 480 pixels high. The color doesnt matter here as we will be using an effect in a few steps.

Step 4: Open the Arrow layer in the Layer Window. Using the Pen Tool, create a path you want the arrow to follow.

Make sure you turn the middle control points into Bezier handles to get the curve in the path.
Step 5: Create another Solid. This will be the tip of our arrow so make it 100 x 100 pixels and select black as the color.
